Reflection # 4

Gap Year

Gap year is when a person takes a break from what he/she’s doing as in college or work. They would travel or go out or stay home do nothing some people travel to see the world how it is and not worry about life it is like a refresh button for life.
Some university students would volunteer on going out and teach other kids just like how I saw British students teaching Indian kids and some would go and help with other things etc. having a gap year doesn’t mean you’re going to miss out in your studies or work sometimes it can help you rethink on how your living how you are lucky in having what you have in how good your life is basically you will become mature and have ideas and not only that you will know things that you never expected.
I had a gap year myself for 2 years it was long but it was worth it because I realized that life isn’t easy my dad taught me that not having a job isn’t pretty. I traveled a lot and to poor countries but although people would still work but in selling fruits vegetable and other things and these places were in India and Thailand. My dad covers for all the expenses but it wasn’t for learning it was for fun then in the end he said see how people live there best you could do more just do good in your studies and you’ll be set on the right track he said your degree certificate is your weapon.
Gap year has disadvantages in some countries like in UAE they wouldn’t understand your situations they will keep asking when you go apply to a university or college why did you stop your studies and in my gap year I had some family issue and I couldn’t continue my studies but they wouldn’t understand for example Etihad they thought I was having a gap year for fun but it was 50% fun and 50% a whole lot of work but that’s not there problem and they won’t accept you if you didn’t have a proof.
It is suggested to have a gap year but not for so long so that you don’t miss out in you’r studies and not get late for it or you will forget what you took in school gap year is for a refresh purposely not for passing time it’s for you to grow up and be mature and see your life in another way to take responsibility.
